There’s a catch, though. Isn't there always?
The Carnival refuses to leave, stop performing, or release the audience unless they can take one human soul with them, to travel eternally performing as part of the circus.
Someone always volunteers.
One day, the tent pops up in your town. From the boardwalk, you peer with longing at the graceful aerial artist, the fortune teller, the inviting game booths stuffed with prizes...
Until, unable to resist, you step inside the ring of mushrooms.

You may be asked (with your consent) to participate, follow a character, make a choice, receive a gift, hold a secret, or leave your world behind forever.
